THEATRE PRODUCTS unveiled its 2015 Spring/Summer collection on October 30th at its Aoyama studio in Tokyo. While the brand has traditionally presented its collection in the form of a show, this season, under the theme of "SHOP," the brand unveiled all of its looks through a photo shoot in a photo studio designed to resemble a shop window. Based on the story of a "trip to a seaside town," the collection featured two models and a mannequin, creating a weekly show window in different situations from 1 to 12. Chic tones of black, white, and beige intertwine with vibrant colors evocative of the Mediterranean sun and a motley selection of souvenir shops. Motifs inspired by the mosaic tile floors of hotels appear on coats, mini dresses, and embroidered skirts, all covered in delicate beads. A tropical fish opal-print jumpsuit is crafted from brushed velvet, inspired by bath towels worn by the beach. The season's theme is also strongly reflected in the accessories. The collection is full of playful items, including hair barrettes and necklaces inspired by natural stones sold in Mediterranean markets and seashells found in souvenir shops, a cowhide bucket-shaped shoulder bag, acrylic hair clips filled with caviar that the designer tasted during her travels, and a necklace with a foundation sample motif.
