THEATRE PRODUCTS presented their 2014 Spring/Summer collection. Designers Akira Takeuchi and Miwa Fujiwara created the theme "CABiN," inspired by the idea of relaxing at a villa nestled in the mountains. The collection took place in a hotel suite. As New Orleans jazz music played, a model emerged from the next room clad in a nude cardigan and lingerie. "Underwear is a symbol of indoor wear. This time, I wanted to propose relaxed wear that gently transitions between indoor and outdoor wear, and I chose a first look that symbolizes that," Fujiwara explained. The hairstyle was parted to the side, creating a bob silhouette that covered one ear, creating a classic mood. The main colors were ivory, black, and beige. Materials included georgette, satin, chiffon, and lace. The patterns included motifs evoking the highlands, such as cutwork lace featuring rackets and fleur-de-lis, and prints of lilies of the valley and tea sets. The collection featured a wardrobe that mixed formal and casual styles, including lingerie-material dresses and sleeveless dresses with barrel silhouettes shaped at the knee, as well as shorts and tennis-style flats. The five-piece pants series, crafted from fabrics unique to Takisada Osaka, such as Super 120, are comfortable and versatile. The collection also featured playful accessories. Small shopper-style bags, bags resembling large tennis ball cases, triangular vinyl earring bags, and stockings with different patterns printed on the front and back complete the collection. "We want to be a brand that is complete with accessories. Our accessories are very popular in stores," said Takeuchi. "When we thought about what true luxury and affluence mean in modern life, we thought a lifestyle of going to a summer resort and enjoying sports symbolized that. From the craftsmanship of the materials to the cutting, we believe we have become a brand that offers clothes for adults, and we hope to become a brand that young people aspire to," said both designers.
The brand came under the umbrella of Takisada Osaka in August this year, and although he commented that "it has only been a few months since the change in structure, it is still to come before we see the impact on our creations," the collection clearly showed improvements in materials and tailoring.
