On October 27th, the Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store held its first-ever equestrian wear fashion show to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its "Equestrian Salon Piaffe" on the fourth floor of the main building. Piaffe, Japan's only equestrian salon, opened on the fourth floor of the main building in October 2004. Offering not only fashionable items from equestrian brands, but also highly functional equestrian gear, jewelry, paintings, crafts, and gifts featuring horses and saddlery, the salon is more than just a saddlery shop; it is popular with both equestrian enthusiasts and horse lovers alike. The show featured elegant equestrian styles that incorporate equestrian elements and can also be worn as everyday wear, including those from Italian equestrian wear brands like Cavalleroa Toscana, Antares, GUIBERT Paris, and DeNiro. Cavalleria Toscana was founded by three "Cavaliers," and its brand logo evokes horseshoes and bridles. Its fashionable and original designs have made it a leader in the industry. Antares, launched in 2000, is said to be beloved by riders worldwide for its custom-made helmets, crafted specifically for each rider. De Niro hails from Lecce, Italy, the city where the heel of a shoe is located. True to its name, the brand reigns supreme as a leading boot brand with a large fanbase. In conjunction with this equestrian fashion event, Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi is hosting a "Horses and Kabuki Event" commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Japan Racing Association (JRA). The event runs until November 4th at the Hajimari Cafe on the 7th floor and the event space on the 3rd and 4th floors. Ichikawa Ebizo will introduce the exhibition, showcasing the treasured collection of the Equestrian Cultural Foundation and the dramas of "memorable famous horses" accompanied by video footage. The Kabuki exhibition venue displays the "Kabuki Horse" and costumes from the "Kabuki Juhachiban" that appear in the work.
