Christophe Lemaire's final collection for Hermès, the Spring/Summer 2015 collection, is based on the themes of "African Breeze" and "From Shadow to Light." The first half of the collection features dazzling sun-like white and ecru as its primary colors. Elegant leather pieces, such as a cashmere double-face coat, a sleeveless coat with a python shawl, and a vest made from a combination of water snake and knit, are indistinguishable from woven fabric. Pleated skirts, paired with longer tops, feature asymmetrical hems. This pleated skirt is one of the collection's key pieces, appearing in a variety of variations in materials and colors. Roomy dresses, deep slits, and rounded blouses all flutter beautifully in the breeze with every step. A loosely tied, sash-like belt is also a key element, designed with a beautiful cut that creates a beautiful look when tied. The second half of the collection features strong colors, such as indigo, prints, and earth tones, evoking the earthy African atmosphere. In addition to dresses featuring mask prints and dip-dyed prints of Hermès scarves, there were also sporty touches, such as blousons and coats made from water-repellent silk known as "parachute silk." A colorful long cardigan reminiscent of African designs was knitted from leather and yarn. A magenta pleated skirt peeking out from a navy sleeveless coat was striking.
The final collection, Lemaire's fourth-year collection, concluded with a gentle sunset-like orange and sweet pink dress.
Nadege Vanhee-Cybulski will take over as artistic director from the 2015-16 AW collection.
