Bvlgari, which celebrated its 130th anniversary in 2014, announced the Bvlgari Octo Maserati Chronograph sports watch (priced at ¥1.2 million), a collaboration with Maserati, the car manufacturer celebrating its 100th anniversary in December. The watch is equipped with Bvlgari's in-house chronograph movement, the Caliber Velocissimo, which means "fastest" in Italian and boasts a frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour. Featuring a silicon escapement and a swing pinion that acts as a clutch, ensuring the chronograph operates with the same precision as a sequential gearbox, the watch boasts a 50-hour power reserve and combines performance, precision, and autonomy. Not only the technical aspects, but everything from the unique case design to the case finish reflects the world of Maserati. A limited edition of 1,914 pieces will be released in honor of Maserati's founding year. Maserati was founded in Bologna by Alfieri Maserati and two of his six brothers, Ettore and Ernesto, and is currently based in Modena. The collaboration with Bulgari began in 2012 with the release of the Bulgari Octo Quadri Retro Chronograph, which was born in Maserati's iconic colors.
