Marie-Hélène de Taillac visits Japan and has a "happy reunion" with fans

Dec 26, 2012

French jewelry designer Marie-Hélène de Taillac visited Japan and held a personal appearance event at the Isetan Shinjuku store.

Marie-Hélène chatted with each fan in the store, helping them choose jewelry. Longtime fans also flocked to the store to meet her, and the event continued well past its scheduled end.

After the event, she said with a smile, "I held a trunk show in Japan in 1997, so some of my customers have been with me for 10 years. I was so happy to be able to talk with them about family, jewelry, and so much more. I was touched by the number of people who came to the store wearing pieces from my previous collections."

Colorful pieces like peridot and pink tourmaline are popular in the store. Her lip-motif ring, with its gentle and affectionate design resembling a kiss on the finger, is one of her bestsellers. Her new collection, "Precious Clover," features a clover design of four hearts, which Marie-Hélène herself calls the "Clover of Love." The display featuring blue feathers was created by Marie-Hélène's friend, beauty journalist, and artist Marco. "I also created a display with the same theme at Paris Fashion Week in October. The blue feathers are a natural color. Feathers have a magical aura and a powerful energy, and I think they go very well with jewelry featuring gold and stones," Marie-Hélène says. Regarding her profession as a jewelry designer, she says, "When a woman has a boyfriend, a fiancé, or a child, what she wants is different at each stage. So I understand each person's situation and give advice that will help them be happy. It makes me really happy to see that a customer I met before is even happier when I meet them again. That's why I think jewelry design is a job where you can make people happier and happier, and where you can see people's smiles. Jewelry is also a symbol of love." Even now that the brand has grown, Marie-Hélène still selects each stone herself, just as she did back then, and remembers what each customer has previously purchased and gives advice based on that. Her passion for her creations and her warm affection for her fans may be the biggest reason why Marie-Hélène de Taillac jewelry continues to fascinate people.
