Shu Uemura will release the limited edition "Shu Uemura 2013 Sakura Collection by ob" on March 20th, a collaboration with contemporary artist ob.

ob is a young artist currently garnering attention, whose talent was discovered by Takashi Murakami and who has had numerous exhibitions overseas. His soft, dreamy works have been used in the new collection's packaging design and as the image colors for the eye shadow and lipstick.

The collection consists of four series: "Sakurahime," "Tsukihime," "Midorihime," and "Umihime." Each series will feature a limited-edition cleansing oil (450ml each, 7,875 yen and 9,450 yen) and UV under-base mousse (50g each, 3,990 yen and 4,200 yen), each with its own unique theme. Other items include a foundation case (¥1,050), a custom case for eyeshadow and blush (¥525), eight pastel-colored eyeshadows inspired by ob's worldview (¥1,890 each), three limited-edition Rouge Unlimited Supreme Shine shades (Princess Coral, Dream Orange, and Sakura Pink), and two limited-edition pink and blue eyelashes. To celebrate the collection's release, ob's solo exhibition, "ob - Maiden's Prayer," will be held at Kaikai Kiki Gallery (Motoazabu Crest Building, 2-3-30 Motoazabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo) from March 21 to April 17. The exhibition features artworks featuring four princesses, which ob created specifically for this collaboration. Admission is free; the gallery is closed on Sundays, Mondays, and public holidays.
