DISCOVERD unveiled their 2013-14 Autumn/Winter collection at the Shibuya Fashion Festival on March 23rd. The designers are the duo Tatsuya Kimura and Sanae Yoshida. The venue was Miyashita Park Skating Rink. The theme was "Archy," inspired by the wardrobe of Archie Marshall, a.k.a. King Kruel, a musician from the British dubstep and darkwave scene. The collection's British traditional aesthetic is at the core of the collection, including a chester coat with a blue accent on the underside of the collar. Items included shorts with a wrap skirt and Burberry-style checked pieces, a staple among London's wealthy "chavs." By layering these pieces and mixing different elements, such as tailored and sportswear, within a single piece through design changes, the collection offers a sophisticated street style.
Kimura said, "The word 'Archie' also means restarting, and it is associated with the present, when the collection has resumed after a three-season hiatus. By bringing the image closer to a more mature one, we would like to approach not only people in their 20s, who have been our main purchasing demographic until now, but also people in their 30s."
