To celebrate the release of David Bowie's first new album in 10 years, the "DAVID BOWIE CAFE" will open for a limited time from March 9th at the Sony Building in Ginza, Tokyo (5-3-1 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo).
The cafe will play background music from his new album "THE NEXT DAY" as well as his previous songs, and will offer a limited-time menu that recreates the flavors of David Bowie's hometown, London.
The limited-time menu item, "Shepherd's Pie & Guinness" (1,100 yen), is a set that includes shepherd's pie, a traditional dish made with mashed potatoes and chili beans topped with plenty of cheese, and Guinness, a classic pub dark beer. Cocktails inspired by David Bowie's famous songs and films, such as "China Girl," "The Man Who Fell to Earth," and "Cat People" (¥1,000 each), are also available. The bar is also filled with David Bowie-themed items, including his latest CD jacket, portraits, and related books. You can also preview his new album at the Sony showroom on the second floor. Born in Brixton, London, in 1947, David Bowie is one of Britain's most important rock artists, with a total of 130 million albums sold worldwide. He began his musical career in 1966 and has released numerous classic albums, including the glam rock era with "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars," the Berlin trilogy with "Heroes," and the 1980s classic "Let's Dance." This year, they broke their long silence with the release of their new song "Where Are We Now?", and will release their first album in 10 years, "The Next Day," on March 13th.
