
The Digital Content of the Year '12/18th AMD Awards, sponsored by the Digital Media Association and honoring creators of outstanding digital content, were announced on February 28. Daito Manabe of the creative group Rhizomatiks won the Enami Naomi Award (Newcomer Award). He was particularly praised for his work on the techno-pop group Perfume's "Perfume Global Project," which connected online consumer creative activities to commercial projects. The award is given to individuals whose achievements mark their debut at the forefront of the industry and who are recognized for their contributions to the development of the industry. Ten content titles were awarded with the Excellence Award, including the nationally acclaimed animated film "Wolf Children," the air band "Golden Bomber" that gained popularity on Nico Nico Douga, and "Puzzle & Dragons," which became a top-selling app in the market through word of mouth. The Grand Prize/Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Award and the AMD Chairman's Award will be decided from this list on March 19th.
