"FLOWER GARDEN 2016," featuring one of the largest flower fields in the Yokohama area, will be held at the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse from April 2nd to 24th.
"Flower Garden" was first held in 2007 to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse's renovation. Due to its popularity with visitors, it has since become an annual event held in April, with a different theme each year.
This year's theme for the 10th annual event is "Easter." To commemorate the 105th anniversary of the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse's founding, 105 Easter bunnies will appear in various shapes in the flower field, the largest in the Yokohama area, where approximately 80 varieties and colorful flowers bloom. The flower field is divided into five zones. The "Welcome Zone" at the entrance features a giant welcome egg-shaped flower field. The "Play Zone" features a flower egg-shaped lawn park, which children can also enter and use as a play area. The park is made up of five zones: the "Let's Eat It Zone," where the Easter Bunny grows his favorite carrots; the "Egg Forest Zone," which depicts the giant tree nest where the bunny lives; and the "Waterside and Melody Zone," where a "flower harp" in the center plays music.
In addition, as a first for this year, projection mapping will be performed using the welcome eggs as a canvas every day from 6:00 p.m., proposing a new way to enjoy the flower garden at night with this fantastical production. In addition, the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse will be holding a linked project with this event, "Red Brick Easter," from March 19th to April 24th. Each store will sell a variety of Easter-themed egg-based menu items and flower-themed goods.
