"Rediscover Ginza" features creative professionals sharing their unique perspectives on how to enjoy Ginza to the next level. Home to both established and up-and-coming shops, Ginza remains at the forefront of fashion, art, entertainment, and cuisine. Our guide through this globally popular tourist destination is Gendai Kozuka, president of the PR office untlim. A fashion specialist specializing in PR and consulting for sophisticated men's brands, Kozuka also has a deep knowledge of art and cuisine. He describes Ginza as one of his favorite neighborhoods. This time, he shares his tips for enjoying Ginza, visiting Shiseido Gallery, Japan's oldest art gallery; Giaggiolo Ginza, an Italian restaurant that inherits the spirit of Santa Maria Novella, the world's oldest pharmacy; and the Ginza Mitsukoshi Gentleman's Lounge, where you can experience all the refined refinements of a gentleman.
SPOT 1. Shiseido Gallery
"Shopping is my hobby!" As such, Ginza is a neighborhood I frequent for both work and leisure. The Shiseido Gallery, located on Chuo-dori Avenue, is a great place to stop by for a break during your shopping trip. Located in the same building as Shiseido Parlour, the Tokyo Ginza Shiseido Building, you'll find a spacious space upon descending the basement level. Since its opening in 1919, the gallery has been dedicated to discovering young talent, showcasing works by a variety of artists. Taking advantage of the high ceilings, the gallery is a leading art spot in Ginza, showcasing not only paintings but also installations. At the time of our visit, the exhibit featured Ozawa Tsuyoshi's "The Return of Painter F." The work weaves a new story based on the life of painter Tsuguharu Foujita, who led a dramatic life.

This impressive exhibit is free to enter!
Comment: You'll be captivated by these mysterious sepia-toned works. Also noteworthy are the realistic texture of the skin and the fashion of Foujita's era. 」

SPOT 2. Giaggiolo Ginza
Mr. Kozuka is a fan of Santa Maria Novella products. Opened in Florence, this is the world's oldest pharmacy, and its philosophy is still carried on today, loved all over the world. Giajiolo Ginza is a restaurant that incorporates the philosophy of Santa Maria Novella into Tuscan cuisine, focusing on carefully selected ingredients and cooking methods. It's a favorite spot for Kozuka. The signature dish is the 15-herb salad (2,400 yen including tax). While many men don't like herbs, this salad is popular for being easy to eat! It's a simple yet luxurious salad that brings out the natural flavor of the ingredients. The herb-steamed Spanish mackerel (3,600 yen including tax) is also outstanding. Furthermore, the restaurant offers a wide variety of pasta and desserts, making it suitable for a variety of occasions, from business meetings to dates.

Chopsticks are provided for easier eating.
Comment: Everything on the menu is healthy, so whether you're visiting for work or pleasure, you can be considerate of the health of your guests.

SPOT 3. GINZA Gentleman's Lounge, 5th Floor, Ginza Mitsukoshi
Mitsukoshi Gentleman's Lounge underwent an extensive remodel last fall. In addition to clothing, the lounge also carries writing instruments, cameras, cigars and smoking accessories, barbershops and more, supporting the refined daily life of a gentleman. Kozuka enjoys classic-style shoe shining. Of all fashion items, he especially loves shoes, and apparently his home is filled with them. This floor is sure to impress even the most discerning shoe lover, with a selection of over 100 brands and a wide selection of related products. The highlight is the "GINZA Shoe Atelier," where you can order leather shoes with your favorite design and color combination. It's an exclusive experience that allows you to find a pair that's just for you.
