Shiseido will hold the exhibition "LINK OF LIFE: Touch. Feel. Beauty's Large Laboratory" at the Shiseido Building in Ginza, Tokyo, from October 23rd to 28th. The exhibition will feature over 20 works, including installations, videos, and interactive pieces, based on the theme of "touch" and "touching." Under the supervision of creative director Fujiwara Dai, the exhibition features a variety of works created by researchers at the Shiseido Research Center in collaboration with over 30 different industries, including educational institutions and companies. In collaboration with Asano Design School and Ve Men Fils Fragrance, "Gum Tea Ceremony" proposes an unexpected and new way to enjoy gum by combining the act of admiring the shape and color of gum, smelling its aroma, and chewing it with the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Additionally, in "Powder World," a collaboration with Shiseido's PICK UP TECHNOLOGY production team, BBmedia Inc., visitors can experience the mysterious movement of the weightless, hollow powder used in foundation. Other works on display include "Happy Hacking Lip," a lip-shaped device that realistically recreates the feel of lips, and "Grain Music," which detects the freshness of tomatoes through music. This exhibition marks the first step in Shiseido's "Global Innovation Center (tentative name)," a new research institute to be established in the Minato Mirai 21 district of Yokohama at the end of 2018, which will create new value through interaction and integration with diverse people. Through works created in collaboration between Shiseido researchers and a variety of companies, this exhibition allows visitors to experience the future of beauty.
