The Scottish brand Barrie has opened its first pop-up shop in Japan at the West Park/Luxury Stage on the 4th floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku. It will be open until June 24th.
The brand was founded in 1903 in Hawick, known as the "home of cashmere." With a history spanning over 100 years, it is a long-established cashmere knitwear manufacturer that has produced knitwear for numerous major fashion houses. In 2012, it became a subsidiary of CHANEL as a factory brand, and released its 14-15 AW collection under the brand name Barrie.
The newly opened shop offers a wide range of products, from clothing to knit accessories such as scarves, knit hats, and gloves. The collection includes over 20 items, including a camouflage-patterned cardigan (¥139,000) with sleeves that change at the upper arms for a soft, voluminous look, a dress with an argyle and camouflage pattern (¥139,000), a leaf-patterned sweater (¥136,000), and a pencil skirt (¥89,000) with the same pattern. Their streamlined lines flatter the female figure. While the pieces may appear delicate and dainty, they are crafted from high-quality cashmere with a firm, firm texture. They are produced in the WHOLEGARMENT process by Shima Seiki Mfg. Co., Ltd. in Japan. The collection also features vibrant colors. There are several color variations, including gray and candy pink, red and navy, and green and navy, and even the same pattern can take on completely different looks, from girly to sporty, depending on the color scheme.
Lily Collins was appointed as the image model, and the lookbook photos were specially taken by Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld himself to coincide with the brand launch.
