Karl Lagerfeld's film about Chanel's youth stars Geraldine Chaplin

Dec 10, 2013

"The Return," a short film produced by CHANEL's artistic director, Karl Lagerfeld, is complete. A teaser trailer has been released ahead of its December 10th release in Dallas and on the brand's official website. The film, conceived, written, and directed by Karl, retells the story of Gabrielle Chanel's youth. It follows on from the short film "Once Upon a Time," which premiered in Singapore last May, and looks back on 1954, when Chanel reopened her couture house. For the filming, Karl recreated Chanel's salon and atelier on Rue Cambon in the suburbs of Paris. Geraldine Chaplin stars as Chanel, alongside Rupert Everett, Anna Mouglalis, Lady Amanda Harlech, Arielle Dombasle, Kathi Nescher, Vincent Dalle, and Sam McKnight.
