Beautiful People, under the direction of designer Kumakiri Hidenori, presented their 2013 Pre-Fall collection. The theme was "Smoking." Inspired by Yves Saint Laurent's LE SMOKING style, introduced in 1966, which incorporated tailored clothing into women's clothing, the collection expanded on various associations. Elegant tuxedo items, which directly reflected the theme, were naturally featured. Quilted skirts crafted from tuxedo cloth were also proposed. Hearts, a symbol of femininity for Yves, were used in patterns and prints. Heart-shaped patterns were also used on tops and dresses, creating dynamic drapes. Two-way wear, such as tops with bowed sleeves, were also introduced, subtly mixing elaborate details with a casual, down-to-earth feel. Yves motifs were also scattered throughout T-shirts, featuring portraits of the designer himself and prints of his beloved dog. The classic leather series has been updated with a new color called "Tobacco," as well as pants inspired by denim whose outseams have turned in after years of wear.
