Sacai's first men's shoes are produced in collaboration with French brand Paraboot

Feb 25, 2013

sacai unveiled its first shoe for its 2013-14 Fall/Winter Men's Collection. The classic double monk strap shoes were created in collaboration with French shoe brand Paraboot. The design is based on Paraboot's William model and comes in two colors: black with glossy glass leather and brown suede. The wavy welt, stitching, and lining are customized with sacai's signature Norwegian construction, a hand-stitched technique that Paraboot is known for. The shoes will be available at select stores, including the sacai flagship store in Minami-Aoyama, Dover Street Market Ginza, Colette in Paris, and 10 Corso Como in Milan. The price is 69,300 yen. Paraboot is known as the only shoe manufacturer in the world that produces everything, from the soles, in its own factories. Founder Remy Richard Pontvert encountered rubber-covered boots in the United States in 1926, which led him to begin producing shoes with rubber soles made from natural latex imported directly from the port of Para, Brazil. The Paraboot brand was born in 1927. Their high-quality shoes, with a waterproof construction and natural rubber soles that do not deteriorate, are sold worldwide. They have also produced exclusive orders for select shops such as Beams and Ships, and in the past have also produced shoes for brands such as Issey Miyake and Yohji Yamamoto. Mugler's 2013-14 Fall/Winter men's collection also featured boots created in collaboration with Paraboot.
