To coincide with the grand opening of the remodeled Isetan Shinjuku store on March 6th, Ryuichi Sakamoto will be creating an original piece of music for the store. The song is titled "Music for Fashion Museum."

Hoping to create a piece that would be appropriate for the store's overall concept of a "fashion museum," and that would appeal to not only the five senses but also a sixth, Isetan commissioned Ryuichi Sakamoto, a musician active not only in Japan but worldwide, to create the music. Sakamoto's original piece will be played at the store's opening and as background music from March 6th onwards. This will be the first time the store has redesigned its opening music in approximately 30 years.
