To commemorate the grand opening of the Isetan Shinjuku store on March 6th, Bijutsu Shuppansha will release a visual book titled "Future Curation" (1,400 yen) on the same day. It was edited by creative director Shigeo Goto. The book features an art fusion shoot by Kishin Shinoyama featuring artwork by Kohei Nawa and clothes from top fashion houses such as Comme des Garçons, Saint Laurent, Dior, and Dolce & Gabbana. It also features a fashion story by Chikashi Suzuki, a fashion photographer active in the magazine "Purple." It also includes interviews with fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto and curator Beatrik Ruff, as well as messages from 51 global figures in the fashion and art worlds, reflecting on the future of curation. Hideki Nakajima is in charge of art direction. The book features a complex bilingual editorial. The message corner from 51 people features messages from fashion figures such as Olivier Zahm, Christian Louboutin, and Masaaki Homma, as well as from the art world such as Ai Weiwei, Theseus Chan, and Mami Kataoka, all displayed side by side on a double-page spread. Any comments that could not be included will be added to Isetan Park Net.
From March 6th, some brands will be doing window jacks at the Isetan Shinjuku store, recreating visuals shot by Shinoyama. Usually, a single brand decorates the windows, but this will be the first time that multiple brands will be lined up side by side.
