REBIRTH PROJECT, whose CEO is Yusuke Iseya, will open a pop-up shop in the Center Park/TOKYO Kaihoku area on the second floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku, showcasing ethical fashion with items incorporating deerskin. The shop will run from November 12th to 25th.
The shop will primarily stock items from INOCHIKA PROJECT, which recycles the lives of wild boars and deer exterminated as pests, rather than letting them go to waste. Collaborations with brands that support this philosophy include denim skirts and shirts from Lee featuring deerskin accents, a teddy bear from SHUN OKUBO with a deerskin ribbon around its neck, and deerskin accessories from eri,.
From 2pm on November 15th, a talk event will be held with Reverse Project co-representative Kameishi Taikatada and creator Fujimoto Akira, where they will discuss making things using deerskin and the future potential of deerskin. Also, from 2pm on the 20th, People Tree representative Safia Minney and Lee Japan director Hosokawa Hidekazu will hold a talk event titled "How To Enjoy Ethical Fashion??", where they will discuss how to enjoy ethical fashion and their initiatives.
The shop's buyer commented, "What I've noticed particularly in recent years is that customers are not just interested in clothes, but are increasingly valuing their own values in the areas of food, clothing, and shelter. We hope that this repurposed deerskin, transformed into a bohemian-style fashion item that's on trend this fall, will provide an opportunity for people to think about the future."
