A limited-time Christmas Station opened on the fifth floor of the main building of Isetan Shinjuku on November 5th. This year's trees come in a variety of sizes and shapes, from substantial, authentic designs to compact ones that fit on desks or chests, and even ones with LED lights. The ornaments, of course, are equally impressive, ranging from traditional Christmas motifs to delicate glasswork and ribbons. But the most eye-catching ornaments are the animal-themed ones. The sales floor, based on the concept of "Animal Wonderland," depicts a fictional Christmas world inhabited by adorable animals. The tree is adorned with oversized items featuring expressive characters, including various dog ornaments (¥2,900) from the "Catherine's Collection." There will also be a section showcasing items for staying comfortable during the cold winter, such as felt slippers (¥9,200) and blankets (¥28,000), selected by Swedish journalist Sonoko Sato. Both exhibitions will run until November 18th.
In addition, in the adjacent living corner, "The Origin of NORDIC LIFESTYLE" is being held for a limited time until December 2nd, showcasing Nordic-style furniture and interiors. Featured fabrics in the warm colors that adorn Nordic life include Finnish textile manufacturer Lapuan Kankurit, popular Nordic ceramic artist Lisa Larson, and Arabia. You're sure to find some exquisite pieces with gentle, soothing forms.
