Photographer Mari Amita's photo exhibition "eternity" will be held at Gallery Speak For in Daikanyama, Tokyo, from December 5th to 17th. This exhibition, Amita's first solo exhibition in approximately a year and a half, was inspired by her sense of loss for her husband, photographer Koji Nomura, who passed away suddenly in September 2013. The mysterious photography journey, in which she imagines and pursues "a free, eternally expanding world" and "a beautiful world that he sees now but that I have yet to see," is a tribute unique to a photographer seeking to synchronize with her late husband's vision. While monochrome, the works, richly radiant and blending day and night, reality and fantasy, offer a new definition of landscape photography. Approximately 40 gelatin silver prints will be on display and for sale at the exhibition, along with original calendars and T-shirts. Amita was born in Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1973. After working as a model, she became a photographer about 15 years ago and began working freelance in 2001. She is primarily active in the field of music visuals, and has worked on CD jackets and portraits for artists such as THE MICHELLE GUN ELEPHANT, CHARA, RIPSLYME, Southern All Stars, and Perfume, as well as a wide range of advertising and fashion magazine work. In 2013, she held her first solo exhibition, showcasing her flower series "Silent Flowers," which began with flower photographs taken with a Polaroid camera.
