Solo exhibition of Aiko Nunokawa, the book cover artist for Kaori Ekuni and Riku Onda, held in Daikanyama

Sep 30, 2014

Illustrator Aiko Nunokawa's solo exhibition "Parade" will be held at GALLERY SPEAK FOR in Daikanyama from October 24th. The exhibition, titled "Parade," brings together ideas born from her diverse work and creative opportunities in recent years and freely expresses them. Approximately 50 large and small works will be on display and for sale, incorporating new artworks, original illustrations for coloring books, and artworks based on wallpaper currently on sale in Australia, as well as representative archive pieces. Also on display and for sale will be one-of-a-kind painted tableware and tiles, embroidered accessories, eco-bags, and new paper items from her own paper brand, "ai." When the artist is present, she will gift purchasers of her original artworks with animal portraits, and those who purchase tableware with a painted outer box. Nunokawa graduated from the Department of Design, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts in 2005. Her work ranges from illustrations for advertisements, books, magazines, picture books, and stationery to work for international clients. She has illustrated the cover art for Ekuni Kaori's "A Dark Room Even at Noon" and Onda Riku's "Nothing Happens in My House," as well as advertisements for Salon de Chocolat at Isetan Shinjuku (2011), Beauty Apothecary, and Atre Ueno. She is also active in exhibitions both in Japan and abroad, and in 2013 held her solo exhibition "VIEW POINT" at Gallery Speak For.
