
To commemorate the publication of the photo book "THE PORTRAITS" (2,700 yen) by photographer Koji Nomura, who passed away suddenly in 2013, the photo exhibition "MEKURU presents hiroshi nomura exhibition "THE PORTRAITS"" will be held at Gallery X in Shibuya Parco Part 1 from September 3rd to the 16th.
The venue will exhibit precious original prints and sell the photo book in advance of its release on the 16th. There will also be an "Exhibition Original Can Badge Gachagacha" machine (300 yen each), with a total of 11 different badges, all of which are reproductions of the logo can badges designed by Nomura, but in different colors. Other original merchandise available for the exhibition includes a five-piece postcard set (¥600) and a clear file folder (¥300). A limited number of copies of "MEKURU," a culture magazine produced by Gambit Inc., the publisher of the photobook, and previously produced and sold photobooks and T-shirts (¥2,000) will be on sale. The exhibition will travel to Osaka's "digmeout ART&DINER" from September 20 to October 13. Born in Osaka in 1960, Nomura graduated from Osaka University of Arts and became a freelance photographer. His pop and vivid style is beloved by many artists, and he has photographed over 600 CD jackets for artists including Southern All Stars, Mr. Children, GLAY, Kaela Kimura, and Perfume. He passed away on September 16, 2013, from acute myocardial infarction. "The Portraits" features a total of 72 portraits, from Hirosue Ryoko and Yoshitaka Yuriko to Gachapin and Mukku.
