AMBUSH(R) has collaborated with Nike and the NBA (National Basketball Association) to release a basketball apparel capsule collection designed and supervised by YOON, as well as the "NIKE x AMBUSH DUNK HI," on December 11th at AMBUSH(R) WORKSHOP, WORKSHOP 2, WEBSHOP, SNKRS, NIKELAB MA5, and Dover Street Market Ginza. 

YOON, the creative director of AMBUSH(R), is the first female designer to collaborate with the NBA, and for this collaboration she will propose fresh styling with energetic details that are characteristic of AMBUSH(R) for female basketball fans. YOON's multifaceted and expansive vision reinterprets the uniforms of the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets. Inspired by traditional basketball warm-up pants with side buttons, these playful pants offer seasonal warmth and a contrasting double-waistband. In addition to the pants, the collection also includes a slim-fitting, long-sleeved top reminiscent of classic NBA jerseys and two jackets featuring bold team names, a nod to the '90s. The iconic "NIKE DUNK" has been reimagined in the style of AMBUSH®, with a Swoosh that protrudes like a motorcycle pipe, inspired by Japanese bike, car, and truck culture. Details that change the shoe's proportions are distinctive.

This project was born from the idea that it would be great if women could support their favorite teams with pride. We wanted to balance basketball culture without sacrificing style, so we were reminded of the strong, independent women of the '90s who rocked men's fashion. We aimed to maintain that attitude while creating a more feminine silhouette.

AMBUSH(R)︎ Creative Director, Dior Men's Jewelry Director
In 2008, YOON launched AMBUSH(R) with VERBAL, who was independently pursuing jewelry design. The experimental jewelry line, which captured Tokyo culture, began with pop art as its foundation. Its signature POW!(R) motif has attracted attention from media and artists around the world. To further express the brand's concept, apparel was created as a canvas for the jewelry, evolving into the design of a unisex collection. In 2015, the brand held its first exhibition in Paris, and subsequently, YOON and VERBAL have been selected as one of "500 People Changing the Fashion World" by "Business of Fashion (BOF)", an online news site focusing on the global fashion business, for four consecutive years since 2015. In 2018, AMBUSH® presented its first runway presentation as part of Amazon Fashion Week Tokyo. Kim Jones of Dior Men also appointed YOON as the brand's jewelry director, and she presented her debut collection in Paris for the 2019 Spring/Summer season. The brand's first shop opened in Tokyo in September 2016, followed by its second in November 2019, and has garnered significant attention as a space that communicates the brand's spirit.
