A pop-up shop featuring CHAN LUU's 2014 Summer Collection will be open at Center Park/The Stage #2 on the second floor of the Isetan Shinjuku Main Building. It will run until July 1st. On June 28th, designer Chan Luu herself will also be visiting the store to demonstrate how to make bracelets (from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM). The brand's theme for this summer is "Santa Fe Summer Trip," and the collection is inspired by the crafts and art of Native Americans in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Chan herself lives in Santa Fe and communicates directly with Native Americans, drawing inspiration from them to create this season's pieces. The shop will feature approximately 300 pieces, including this summer's newest creations, including bracelets (starting at 7,500 yen) featuring turquoise, Swarovski crystals, and petal patterns, as well as necklaces and anklets adorned with delicate beads. The Mitsukoshi Isetan limited edition bracelets (priced from ¥11,000 to ¥28,000), which were sold out immediately when they were featured in the Chan Luu capsule collection at the store last March, will also be available in limited edition reissues.
During the event, customers will be able to add their favorite charms, such as initials or crosses, to their purchased bracelets for a fee (an additional ¥1,000 for one charm, and an additional ¥1,500 for two charms).
According to a representative, "As we approach the summer season, when we will be showing more skin, we hope even those who don't usually wear accessories will enjoy the summer with Native American-themed accessories and get a taste of the good old days of America. The items on display are primarily unisex, but there will also be some men's items with wider bracelet straps. We've created a space at the venue that resembles a Chan Luu workshop, and we're importing decorations from the United States, so we hope you'll come and take a look."
