Los Angeles accessory brand CHAN LUU recently opened its world-first flagship store (located at 5-12-2 Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo) on Antique Street in Aoyama, Tokyo. Designer CHAN LUU visited Japan on June 7th to celebrate the grand opening. She has visited Tokyo dozens of times, and Aoyama is one of her favorite areas. The white-themed interior is simple and free of clutter, with the sole focus on showcasing the products. "I love the sophistication of Aoyama. I wanted to open a flagship store here because so many people understand the brand's background. By displaying handmade accessories with organic elements in a modern store, we've created a contrast between the old and the new. The architecture, products, and lifestyle are all connected," said CHAN LUU. CHAN LUU, who has roots in Vietnam and China and currently lives in the United States, says she draws inspiration for her designs from her international surroundings. Naturally, she also finds inspiration when she visits Japan.

"In Japan, people pay the most attention to others, because there are so many fashionable people on the streets. Japanese people are good at making things look simple yet beautiful. Yesterday I went to the food floor of Isetan Shinjuku, and I was fascinated by the displays and packaging that made things look delicious."

Chan Luu's motif this summer is Native American culture. She has a home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and says that she gained a variety of hints and inspiration from interacting directly with Native Americans. She uses stones such as turquoise, coral, and lapis lazuli.

When asked about her style, she cheerfully said, "The motif is tribal, but the design goes well with not only denim but also high-end fashion, so I hope you will enjoy incorporating it into your usual style."
