Leather brand Hender Scheme has published its first book, "Manufacture." Priced at ¥4,500, this offer is limited to 500 minutes. Designer Ryo Kashiwazaki, who has lived in Asakusa since before he founded the brand, says he has always felt the unique atmosphere and warmth of the town, combining both its warm, caring, and seemingly inhospitable side. This book captures the wonder and warmth of the artisans involved in shoemaking in this environment, as well as the contradictory challenges, to convey the true, unadulterated image of Asakusa. The book depicts the process and progression of Asakusa, in line with Kashiwazaki's philosophy: "Things are passed from person to person, become products, and then people use them to create their own unique finished products." Sales are scheduled to begin in mid-January 2015 at wholesalers nationwide.
