Grand Tree Musashikosugi: A Closer Look at the Family-Friendly Commercial Facility with a "Love" Theme

Nov 21, 2014

Seven & i Holdings will hold the grand opening of the large-scale commercial facility "GRAND TREE MUSASHIKOSUGI" (3-1135 Shinmaruko Higashi, Nakahara-ku, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture) on November 22nd. A preview was held on the 20th.

The facility is located near Musashi-Kosugi Station, which is served by the Tokyu Toyoko Line and JR Line, and is close to "Lala Terrace Musashi-Kosugi" and Park City Musashi-Kosugi, which opened in April. The four-story building will house 160 tenants, including stores opening in Japan for the first time and new businesses. With a 5km radius as its commercial area and a theme of "various 'loves,'" the facility will offer a lineup of shops that will make you want to visit every day, from everyday items to sophisticated fashion and restaurants.

The facility will be divided into four major categories: "Fashion," "Interior & Household Goods," "Restaurants & Cafes," "Food," and "Beauty & Services." With Ito-Yokado as the anchor tenant, the mall has introduced specialty stores from the group, including Seibu Sogo Musashi-Kosugi SHOP, Akachan Honpo, LOFT, Francfranc, Seven Beauty Garden, and Tower Records. Ito-Yokado is a general supermarket that proposes a new lifestyle, with the theme of providing high-quality products and customer service that conveys value.

The grocery store GRAND TREE MARCHE is located on the first floor, household goods HOME & WORKS is on the third floor, and family casual wear Goody Park is on the fourth floor.

In the atrium space AQUADROP, which stretches from the main entrance on the first floor to the fourth floor, a water sculpture flowing from a height of 14 meters is installed, accompanied by sound and light effects. The rooftop features "Guran Gurin Garden," one of Japan's largest rooftop gardens, covering 4,300 square meters, where visitors can enjoy seasonal trees and flowers. There's also plenty of play equipment for children to enjoy, including a maze, slides, and a chalkboard floor for drawing with chalk. Other unique services aimed at creating an "oasis for families in the city" include a "rest space" with monitors where customers can check the latest tenant and campaign information while relaxing between shopping trips, a "photo spot" where customers can take photos for their children's birthdays, family anniversaries, or to create memories with friends, a "baby room" with an unprecedented nursing space that meets mothers' needs, a multipurpose space called "Smile Square," and a rental party space called "PARTY for YOU" that can be used for various purposes. The mall offers a wide range of unique services to support convenience, mobility, and communication, aiming to become an "oasis for families in the city."

Ito-Yokado President and CEO Kazuhisa Toi commented, "Grand Tree Musashi-Kosugi is a facility that we have built with the combined efforts of our group. We have arranged high-quality sales areas and products for local residents so that they can enjoy it without having to go to Shibuya or Yokohama. At the Seibu Sogo Musashi-Kosugi SHOP, we have introduced a 'live shopping service' that allows you to shop by connecting with the Sogo Yokohama store and the Seibu Shibuya store via a live broadcast, proposing a completely new style of shopping, so we hope you will pay attention to that as well."
