
Tokyo Station, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary on December 20th, will be holding a variety of limited-time events starting December 1st.
Ecute Tokyo will be running a Christmas campaign with the theme "Make Your Christmas." Christmas-only sweets include Le Vie Produit par à la campagne's original shortcake "Genoise aux Fraises (3 sizes, 2,916 to 4,860 yen)," Doux Pâtisserie à Tokyo's Christmas-colored cake "Pistachio (3,000 yen)" made with pistachio mousse, and Meisterstock's "Christmas Fruit Roll (2,160 yen)," a roll cake filled with plenty of fruit. Other items on sale include Tsubame Grill Deli's "Homemade Roast Chicken (900 yen)," and Japan Market's "Christmas Wreath (3,780 yen)" made from stockings. The Yaesu Book Center Main Branch, located on the former site of Kajima's headquarters at the Yaesu Exit of Tokyo Station, uses the expertise of Kajima Corporation to raise European honeybees on its rooftop. New products using honey collected there are also being introduced. JR East Food Business has released "Yuzu-Scented Tokyo Yaesu Honey Hot Ginger," a hot drink made with ginger and floating yuzu peel from Tokushima Prefecture. The "Seasonal Fruit Crepe Wrapped with Yaesu Honey (1,200 yen)" is served with honey ice cream from a fruit orchard. Tempura Keyaki also features a vegetable smoothie made with Yaesu honey. Also opening in a Japanese station, the popular New York cupcake shop "Magnolia Bakery" will be opening its first location. It will be open for a limited time from December 1st to 14th at the Ecute Tokyo event space Shun. The illumination event, produced by Rhizomatiks and held at Gran Roof at Yaesu Exit, has been titled "TOKYO STATION 100 YEARS Tokyo colors." A teaser site has been released. The period has also been extended from the original plan, and will run from December 1st to February 14th, 2015.
