TOKYO COFFEE FESTIVAL 2017 Spring, Japan's largest coffee festival, will be held on March 18th and 19th in front of the United Nations University in Aoyama, Tokyo, featuring approximately 60 roasters and coffee shops from Japan and abroad. This year's sixth annual event will be themed around "local," bringing together exhibitors from across Japan and around the world. One standout exhibitor will be THE BARN COFFEE ROASTERS BERLIN, a leading German coffee roaster in Europe. Their commitment to quality ingredients is reflected in their small-batch roasted premium coffee. On the day, they will be working with the team from Standard Magazine, an international magazine dedicated to promoting specialty coffee, to promote the appeal of European coffee. Seven other roasters from overseas will also be exhibiting. On the 18th, Gabriel El Moreira from Daterra Farm, renowned as Brazil's finest, will visit Japan to personally introduce the coffees of the producers. Coffee tasting tickets (5 tickets for 1,000 yen including tax) will be available for purchase at the venue, allowing visitors to enjoy coffees from various roasters. In addition, tickets that come with an official mini mug (1,530 yen including tax) will also be on sale in limited quantities.
Other events include "Tiny Song Show," a group that mainly performs live on the streets, performing from 11am to 11:30am and 2pm to 2:30pm on the 18th, and "LOOP POOL," a band that is actively engaged in Asian tours, performing two special live shows on each day, from 10:30am to 11:15am and 2pm to 2:45pm on the 19th. There will also be talk events and workshops at some nearby coffee shops, and two films (1,500 yen each/capacity 50 people) about baristas and roasters from around the world who have fallen in love with coffee will be screened at the "Farmer's Market Community Lounge" at the United Nations University.
