On February 23rd, Emilio Pucci presented its Fall/Winter 2017-18 collection in Milan. This marks the fourth season since Massimo Giorgetti took over as creative director. Prints, which had previously been on the decline, were prominent this season, and the collection offered a variety of looks, from daywear to evening wear and even a travel line aimed at the jet-setter, in the signature Emilio Pucci style. The opening was dominated by vibrant colors like apple green, bride orange, and peach pink. Dresses and tops with long fringes that danced freely with every step created a light and airy impression. Silhouettes varied, incorporating asymmetrical cuts and one-shoulder tops. Flared jersey pants and glittering embellishments with stones and sequins evoked an eccentric 1970s vibe. Jeans, making their debut, were a breath of fresh air, featuring simple straight-leg styles with pop-colored stitching. Massimo's signature paisley pattern appeared not only as a print, but also on jersey pants, jacquard outerwear, and footwear. The pattern construction of one dress, which combined a large scarf and a solid-color long dress in equal parts, and another dress with sequins woven along the curves of the print, were extremely challenging and demonstrated the brand's craftsmanship cultivated over its history. Toward the finale, the travel line was introduced with archive prints. Travel essentials such as PVC raincoats, weekend bags, and trolley bags were given a vibrant, Emilio Pucci touch. Building on the brand's sporty and travel themes, which began with skiwear, the collection blended Massimo's youthful, modern ideas. This collection was designed for the modern woman with a diverse lifestyle, ready to embrace any day with Emilio Pucci.
