
This season, Hong Kong-based leather bag brand CAFUNE makes its Japan debut.
The brand name "CAFUNE" comes from the Portuguese word for stroking the hair of a loved one. Driven by a desire to connect the emotions of the maker and the wearer, the brand focuses on tactile materials and offers a collection featuring details that balance functionality with the wearer's lifestyle.
The brand's signature "Basket Bucket" is an iconic bucket-shaped bag that combines ease of use with simple charm. The "Camber Satchel," a one-handle bag inspired by the camber angle of a car tire, the noble square tote bag "Cube Tote," and the chain shoulder bag "Edge Crossbody" are decorated with luxurious and refreshing marble plates. The "Camber Clutch" is a front-zip clutch bag accented with a circle motif. All items are crafted from high-quality Italian calfskin, and all of the accompanying hardware is original to the brand. Designer Queenie Fan moved to the United States at the age of 17 and gained experience as an accessories designer for four years at fashion houses such as 3.1 Phillip Lim, Coach, and Rag & Bone. Director Day Lau moved to the UK at the age of 16 and gained experience in marketing and PR in the architectural industry before working as a communications consultant. The two, who have been friends since childhood, reunited in Hong Kong in June 2015 and launched their original brand, "Cafune."
