The "47 Children's Tools Exhibition," which rediscovers craftsmanship from all over Japan through tools used by children, will be held from April 6th to June 11th at d47 MUSEUM on the 8th floor of Shibuya Hikarie.
This exhibition, the museum's 18th special exhibition, will select one tool from each of Japan's 47 prefectures that is made with children in mind, utilizing techniques and resources from all over Japan, and will exhibit and sell them. The exhibition will feature toys such as "Vegetable Crayons" made from safe vegetables by Mizuiro in Aomori Prefecture, "MUSEO" a drawing board for children by Mastro Geppetto in Fukushima Prefecture, and "kururin", a new type of skill toy exhibited by Koncel in Saitama Prefecture, as well as tableware such as "Children's Bowl" by Iwadate Takashi in Iwate Prefecture, "Ku-wan" by Higashi Porcelain Works in Ishikawa Prefecture, "Tsuyoiko Glass" by Ishizuka Glass in Aichi Prefecture, and "Black Core Chopsticks and Chopstick Case Set" by Miemon in Mie Prefecture.
In addition, there are also clothing items such as "Kowakka" children's handrails from Takahashi Kogei in Hokkaido, "ISHINOMAKI STOOL" from Ishinomaki Kobo in Miyagi Prefecture, "Indigo Dyed Bibs" from Amano Konya in Shimane Prefecture, "straw hats" from Ishida Seibo in Okayama Prefecture, "SocksDEPO" five-finger socks from Fukushin in Kagawa Prefecture, "KIDS GYM CLASSIC" kids' sneakers from Moonstar in Fukuoka Prefecture, as well as the "cocone series of baby bedding" from Nishizaki in Shiga Prefecture and "Topponcino", a small futon said to be ideal for babies, from Yowakai F&Y Sakaiminato in Tottori Prefecture. Other items on display include a wooden bike made using traditional bentwood techniques from Works Guild Japan in Akita Prefecture, a children's chair from Ohba Woodworks in Ibaraki Prefecture, a four-legged desk premium S two-legged chair from Kisiru in Shizuoka Prefecture, and the cute "Chichi" object from AKIHIRO WOODWORKS in Kagoshima Prefecture.
