The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company announced its first collaboration with patisserie Pierre Hermé Paris. Pierre Hermé Paris will provide all sweets for the hotel's restaurants, meeting spaces, weddings, and banquets at The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto (543 Hokota-cho, Nijo-Ohashi-agaru, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture), which opens on February 7th next year. In addition to desserts for the Italian and Japanese restaurants, Pierre Hermé will also be responsible for breakfast items such as breads, pound cake, granola, and yogurt. Macarons, chocolates, and cakes will be served in the bar lounge and sold in the shop. Hermé commented, "Ritz is a partner that shares our values, providing service that is tailored to each individual detail, rather than following a manual. We share the same values, having been in Japan for 15 years. We hope guests will enjoy the experience through their tastes." The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto is the Ritz-Carlton's first urban resort in Japan. Located adjacent to the Kamo River and Nijo Bridge near Gion and Kawaramachi Street, the hotel has 134 guest rooms.
