The Palace Hotel's three-tiered afternoon tea, where you can enjoy the flavors of autumn, is popular for its generous portion.

The Palace Lounge, the lobby lounge on the first floor of Palace Hotel Tokyo (1-1-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), is offering a limited-time autumn menu, "Autumn Afternoon Tea," until November 30th, featuring a revamped version of its popular afternoon tea, which is served with an original three-tiered bento box.

This afternoon tea is one of the lounge's most popular menu items, especially among female guests, and features a three-tiered bento box of light snacks, including sweets and sandwiches. In keeping with the Edo period custom of packing food into a jubako box without leaving any gaps, the three-tiered bento box is crammed with colorful ingredients, creating a visually luxurious experience.

This limited-time menu incorporates autumn flavors such as pumpkin and Mont Blanc. The first tier features familiar afternoon tea items, including scones and clotted cream, three types of jam (preserves and honey), and apricot viennoiserie. The second tier features a mix of Japanese and Western side dishes, including a walnut bread sandwich with marinated salmon and sour cream, Parma prosciutto, semi-dried prunes, and Camembert pintxos, maitake mushroom tempura pintxos, pumpkin and mascarpone quiche, and inari sushi. Japanese dishes are also presented in innovative ways, such as pintxo-style maitake mushroom tempura and ura-inari, made by turning deep-fried tofu inside out and wrapping it around rice. The third tier is a fusion of Japanese and Western sweets, including seasonal fruit and yogurt mousse, matcha cake, Mont Blanc, original chocolate, and macarons. The original blend tea served with your meal comes in a pot. Choose from 30 varieties across five categories: classical tea, aromatic tea, herbal tea, Japanese tea, and Chinese tea. You can also change the tea leaves during your meal. If you visit between 2:00 PM and 4:30 PM, when afternoon tea is served, you can order as many cups of tea as you like. Manager Manabu Otake says, "The tea leaves are carefully selected by the lounge staff, using only A-grade tea leaves. The generous bento box set includes a light meal and dessert, so many female customers combine their late lunch with afternoon tea." Afternoon tea costs 3,800 yen (excluding service charge). Seat reservations are available only if you visit on weekdays between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM and order the afternoon tea set.
