Michael Kors returned to Japan for the first time in two years. On the 13th, he held the "Michael Kors in Japan with Miranda Kerr" event at the Tokyo National Museum's Horyuji Treasure Gallery.
Together with model Miranda Kerr, who graced the cover of the December issue of ELLE JAPON in Michael Kors' holiday collection, the designer took to the stage at the Treasure Gallery, designed by Yoshio Taniguchi, to liven up the evening in the Ueno Forest, which was just beginning to turn color.
Also appearing at the event were DJs Alexandra Richards, daughter of Keith Richards, and her sister Theodore Richards. Alexandra's DJ set the stage. Other attendees included model Ai Tominaga, actresses Rinko Kikuchi, Rila Fukushima, Izumi Mori, Youn-a, Mariko Shinoda, Tomomi Itano, and LA-based blogger Aimi Song. Guests at the party also had the opportunity to take photos of specially made "Selma" mini bags from the brand's second line, Michael Michael Kors, in a photo booth. The photos were then linked to the image-sharing social networking site Instagram and posted to Facebook, marking a new promotional initiative that made use of social media.
