On November 14th, ISSEY MIYAKE INC. will release Christmas items at its brand stores nationwide. This year's theme is "LOOK UP AT THE PLANETS AND MAKE A WISH." Six brands are participating: ISSEY MIYAKE, ISSEY MIYAKE MEN, PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE, HaaT, me ISSEY MIYAKE, and BAO BAO ISSEY MIYAKE.
The collection includes Issey Miyake Men denim (52,500 yen) featuring graphics in three colors: red, blue, and yellow, Issey Miyake knit vest with a fur-like texture (73,500 yen), Me Issey Miyake pleated dress (22,050 yen), and tunic with a geometric heart pattern (73,500 yen). It also includes a Pleats Please Issey Miyake stole (25,200 yen) and a Bao Bao Issey Miyake metallic bag with a globe print (29,400 yen), available only in Japan. Gifts will also be available for purchases of over 10,000 yen (tax included).
In addition, an event will be held in Tokyo, Osaka, and Hyogo in December. At the Tokyo venue, Minoru Fujimoto, winner of numerous awards including Tokyo Designers Week 2012 YOUNG CREATOR OF THE YEAR, will perform "Lighting Choreographer," a performance that combines sound and light with dance. At the Osaka venue, SjQ++, winner of the runner-up prize at the 2013 Ars Electronica, a global media art award, will perform an interactive live performance combining musical instruments and video. At the Kobe venue, the tap dance company TAPPERS RIOT, led by Kazunori Kumagai, will perform. Admission to these events is free, but applications are required. To apply, applicants must send an email to each venue, providing their name, age, gender, whether they will be accompanied (up to one companion per application), and the name of their companion. Applications will be accepted until December 3rd, and the results of the lottery will be announced by email on December 5th.
