Following in the footsteps of the First Moscow Watch Factory, they developed wristwatches for Soviet officers. The "STURMANSKIE" was the first watch to be flown into space. The ARCTIC2432 model combines a 24-hour display that tells day and night with regular watch functions. This model combines high legibility with a classic design.
ARCTIC2432 Model

In 1957, the Soviet Union began exploring the Arctic, and they set foot in the eternal ice of the Arctic. On their wrists were watches manufactured by the First Moscow Watch Factory. Since day and night in the Arctic had to be determined by observing the position of the sun, it was a 24-hour model that could withstand extremely low temperatures.

Features

The Navigator ARCTIC features a highly visible dial, a durable steel case, a large, stable face, and the reliable Russian movement 2432. In addition to the standard display, ARCTIC models are equipped with a 24-hour display, which is particularly important in the Arctic Circle. In conditions where there is no sun, a disk in the center depicting a map of the North Pole rotates to indicate day and night. The disk color varies depending on the model, and is depicted in a variety of colors.

The design inherits the ARCTIC model used in the 1950s, bringing it back to life with some modern adjustments. The face features globe-inspired lines, also used in the original model, and the font used to display the time remains the same as it was back then. The hands use arrow-shaped hands to display the time more accurately, and the 24-hour display features a red triangle mark for improved visibility. This model also features a large crown that can be used while wearing gloves.
Coloring
In addition to the classic black model, there is also a dark blue model that represents the infinite sky in a snowy world. The old-style coloring ivory series is available in stainless steel and gold PVD cases. Each model has a different face, so you're sure to find one you like.

History

  Moscow First Watch Factory
Moscow First Watch Factory
Moscow First Watch FactoryThe brand's predecessor, the Moscow First Watch Factory, was founded in 1930. In 1949, the "STURMANSKIE" was developed as a wristwatch to be used by the Soviet Army, Navy, and Air Force. The name "STURMANSKIE," meaning "navigator," began the company's career as a manufacturer of robust watches capable of withstanding even the harshest conditions. Its high functionality and reliability were so highly praised that the Soviet Union (now Russia) commissioned a specially commissioned space-worthy watch for Yuri Gagarin, the first astronaut in human history to travel into space. In 1961, Gagarin reached space with the watch and successfully circled the Earth in 1 hour and 48 minutes. The legendary "STURMANSKIE" watch, which functioned flawlessly in zero gravity and extreme conditions, supported the first spaceflight's remarkable feat and quickly became a global phenomenon. Since then, the company has continued to grow and establish itself as a watch manufacturer with over half a century of experience, designing, manufacturing, and assembling its watches at its watch factory near the Kremlin. With its precious Russian-made movement, stylish design, and unique story, the watch is highly sought after by collectors worldwide.
