Winter illuminations with a unified worldview ■About the 2020 Christmas theme, "THE HOLY FAMILY" Christmas 2020 will be a year in which people will spend time with their loved ones with even more special feelings than usual. Everyone who used to gather together under the large roof of the Galleria is now part of the Rise family, and we consider the space as one home. Even though it will be difficult to gather in the same place as before, we hope that everyone's hearts will be united around the Christmas tree, a symbol of their home.

We have put together a variety of creative ideas, including sound, light, and video, to create a place where people can come together even when they are apart. This is the feeling that is embodied in the 2020 Christmas theme, "THE HOLY FAMILY."

■About the Christmas Tree

This year marks the third year of our collaboration, and the Christmas tree was produced by communication director and art director Chie Morimoto. This year, we have gone back to our roots, designing the Christmas tree as a light that warmly illuminates everyone at Christmas, a time to care for family, friends, and loved ones and share joy.

The tree is decorated with ornaments made from natural and organic materials, and has a warm design that gently embraces the hearts of those who see it. At the base of the tree, there are rows of houses that symbolize "a place where families gather," and they are filled with wishes for the days when people can gather together again.

Point 1. Original music by Miyawaki Takayuki that "brings everyone together"

Morimoto and Futako Tamagawa Rise's Christmas project features completely original decorations, performances, and music. At "THE HOLY FAMILY," musician Miyawaki Takayuki will perform a musical performance every 15 minutes between 4:00 PM and midnight, along with lighting effects that are timed to match the music.

Using classic Christmas songs as its motif, the tree will be decorated with original music born from the unusual approach of gathering the voices of the "Rise family" to create a single piece of music.

▽Mr. Miyawaki Takayuki Musician
Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1970. A musician who excels at creating music that everyone can enjoy, together with children. His activities revolve around "music with children," and he excels in creating warm sounds played by people and easy-to-listen-to melodies. He incorporates his unique worldview into projects, product advertisements, educational materials, programs and more aimed at children, and has provided numerous songs for Benesse Corporation and others.

Point 2. A Christmas tree making and lighting video capturing the thrill of the moment it is lit has been released.

As a new initiative this year, we have produced a special video capturing the entire process of making the Christmas tree, from making it to lighting it, and will be releasing it on our website. While the Christmas tree lighting ceremony, which typically attracts large numbers of guests, has been canceled this year, we created this original video with the desire to share the thrill of the moment the Christmas tree is lit, especially at a time like this.

"May the world become one in which people can reconnect with each other." The video conveys the sentiment that Chie Morimoto put into the tree.

Point 4. Winter illuminations with a unified worldview

The winter illuminations at Futako Tamagawa Rise are well-received every year. This year, the illuminations will have a unified feel, starting with the Galleria Christmas tree, and will create a warm glow like candlelight. A departure from the colorful and glittering Christmas lights, the illuminations will create a tranquil atmosphere, bringing healing to everyone. The illuminations will be spread throughout Futako Tamagawa Rise, centered around the grand staircase, enveloping the town of Futako Tamagawa in a warm glow.
