Neil Barrett's second line, BLACKBARRETT by Neil Barrett, will begin full-scale development this season.
The brand was launched in 2007 through a licensing agreement between Sanyo Shokai and Neil Barrett. After the contract expired in the autumn/winter 2012 season, the brand moved to Singapore-based apparel company Club 21 for spring/summer 2013, with Neil Barrett's main collection design team now handling the designs. Spring/summer 2014 showcases graphic color-blocked designs, pieces with different colors and materials on the front and back, and knitwear with mesh sleeves.
The brand currently has seven stores in Asia, including Singapore, China, and Hong Kong. It also has a store at Galeries Lafayette Beijing, which opened in October. It opened a store in Japan at Sendai FORUS in April. The store has been in operation since the days of Sanyo Shokai. "We're seeing an increase in new customers in addition to existing customers. We're considering wholesale in the future," said a Club 21 representative. The entire store was designed by nendo, a design firm led by Oki Sato, and features linear black fixtures for a minimalist look.

An online store will open on Zozotown on November 28th. To commemorate the opening, a wool peacoat (40,950 yen) and a cotton twill shirt (15,750 yen) will be sold exclusively. The main price ranges are suits in the 60,000 yen range, coats from 40,000 to 50,000 yen, shirts from 10,000 to 25,000 yen, bottoms from 20,000 to 50,000 yen, and knitwear from 15,000 to 25,000 yen.
