Printemps Ginza and Hankyu Men's Tokyo are collaborating for a second time in 2014 to create a lucky bag. The lucky bag is titled "Aim for a Department Store Marriage! Support Lucky Bag." With the economic upturn in 2013, the matchmaking market is booming. To address this, Printemps Ginza is targeting working women in their 20s and 30s with a lucky bag themed around fashion suitable for matchmaking parties and dates, while Hankyu Men's Tokyo, a men's fashion specialty store, is offering a lucky bag for men. The lucky bags, designed by matchmaking advisor Mayumi Mizuno, feature eye-catching fashion items. "The better a man or woman makes a good first impression, the higher their chances of success," says Mizuno. For women, two styles are being proposed: the elegant "Ginza Elegance Style" and the cute "Yurakucho Sweet Style." For men, two styles are being proposed: the masculine "Ginza Cool Glossy Style" and the sophisticated "Yurakucho Tradition Style."
It also includes a ticket to a matchmaking party to be held in early February 2014. Mizuno is also overseeing the matchmaking party, which will be held at Salon de the Angelina on the second floor of the Printemps Ginza main building. "Participants will take a 'Love Ability Diagnostic Test' beforehand, and men and women will be grouped based on the results, so even in a short time, you can expect to find a high-quality match," he says. There are no restrictions on purchasing the lucky bag, but of course, only single adults can participate in the matchmaking party.
This collaborative lucky bag has stepped up from the 2013 "machikon" (traditional matchmaking event) to a "matchmaking party" in 2014. "This year, we proposed a lively, large-scale encounter. Next year, we plan to limit the number of couples and provide a more in-depth encounter," says Hiroshi Sasaoka, president and CEO of Printemps Ginza.
Furthermore, regarding the concept of this lucky bag, "Let's meet in Ginza and Yurakucho," Yamaguchi Toshihiko, manager of Hankyu Men's Store, said, "Although the main customer bases are different at each store, we would like couples who are formed through this lucky bag to visit both stores together."
Printemps Ginza will have two types, limited to 15 bags each, and Hankyu Men's Tokyo will have two types, limited to 15 bags each. Both are 21,000 yen including tax. Numbered tickets will be distributed on the day of sale.
