Hankyu Men's Tokyo to hold fall/winter styling course

Oct 17, 2013

Hankyu Men's Tokyo in Yurakucho, Tokyo, will begin its Fall/Winter Style Making Seminar on the 23rd. Lectures will cover two styles: business and casual. Two courses are available: a weekday course (two sessions, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM) and a weekend course (12:30 PM to 5:00 PM). The business style course will be held on weekdays on October 23rd and 30th, and on weekends on the 26th and 27th. The casual style course will be held on weekdays on November 13th and 20th, and on weekends on November 16th and 17th. The course fee is 10,000 yen. Applications can be made at the Style Making Club on the 4th floor of Hankyu Men's Tokyo. The instructor will be Mitsuhiro Nishigamine, the store's in-house stylist. The business style seminar will focus on British-style dressing techniques. Since it's fall/winter, practical techniques for coats and accessories (scarves and gloves) will also be covered. The casual style seminar will focus on styles suitable for work.

The seminar has been held 25 times in the two years since Hankyu Men's Tokyo opened. To date, 200 people, mostly in their 30s and 40s, have participated. Due to the location, many of the attendees are businessmen from Marunouchi and Otemachi.

The fashion book "Stylish School for Adult Men: Useful from Today" (Shufunotomosha), published last December and supervised by the store, has sold 41,000 copies, far exceeding the initial target of 7,000 copies.
