
"Our Moment," an eau de parfum produced by the British boy band One Direction (hereafter 1D), will be released in Japan in early spring 2014. The concept behind this product is that the band would give it as a gift to their "Directioners," or 1D fans. The crown-shaped cap is adorned with a pink flower, and the six-sided diamond-shaped bottle represents "the five members and you, the person holding the perfume." The scent is a sparkling, juicy floral, featuring fruits such as pink grapefruit and wild berries enveloped in jasmine petals and fresh freesia. Launched in the UK in August, ahead of the rest of the world, it recorded sales of 126 million yen in two weeks and was recognized as the fastest-selling perfume in UK history. Launched in the US in September, it ranked 15th in total US sellout sales from July to September, despite only being on the market for a month. It was also released in Italy in mid-September, ranking 9th in perfume sales that month.
1D is a five-member boy band from the UK that emerged from a viewer-participation audition program in 2010. They released their debut album, "UP ALL NIGHT," in 2011 and their second album, "Take Me Home," in 2012, achieving total sales of over 24 million copies in just one year. They are the first UK group to have their debut album debut at number one on the US Billboard charts. After their first visit to Japan in January of this year, their two albums dominated the number one and two spots on the Oricon Western music charts, and tickets for their November Japan concert sold out. Their third album, "Midnight Memories," was released on November 27th.
