Jun 4, 2017

The "Shizuoka Issue" (¥1,900) of "d design travel," a travel guidebook showcasing the 47 prefectures from a design perspective, will be released on July 7th. Originally published in February 2012, the Shizuoka issue has been expanded and revised six years later, showcasing the ever-evolving Shizuoka prefecture. Based on the editorial theme of "long-life design" (design that continues to be loved regardless of the times), the issue uncovers and features "the unique charms of each region" in six categories across Shizuoka Prefecture: sightseeing, restaurants, shopping, cafes, accommodations, and people. The new coverage, including the introduction of the evolving Shizuoka prefecture, offers a perspective not found in previous guides. To coincide with the release, a related exhibition, "d design travel SHIZUOKA EXIBITION," will be held at the d47 MUSEUM on the 8th floor of Shibuya Hikarie from June 15th to July 30th. In addition, the "Shizuoka Set Meal" will be available as a new menu item at the d47 cafeteria in the building from June 13th to August 7th, and a talk show called "d design show" and a "Shizuoka Eating Party" where you can enjoy food culture and local sake and beer will be held on June 22nd.

In addition, on June 25th, D&DEPERTMANT SHIZOKA by TAITA in Shizuoka will also hold the "d design travel show" and a publication celebration party. On July 12th in Tokyo and on the 19th in Shizuoka, Yanagiya Kaen will perform a local rakugo performance, "d47 Rakugo Performance 17th Shizuoka Prefecture," showcasing the essence of Shizuoka.
