In November, Isetan Mitsukoshi Holdings Co., Ltd. (Representative Director and Executive Officer: Taiyo Onishi) joined Tmall Global, the cross-border e-commerce site operated by Alibaba Group, China's largest e-commerce site.

Isetan Mitsukoshi Group stores see many international visitors every day, and duty-free sales in the first half of 2016 increased approximately 3.7 times compared to the first half of 2013. Approximately 70% of these visitors are from China, visiting Isetan Mitsukoshi Group stores in search of high-quality Japanese products and popular Japanese goods. With a view to developing new customers in China, Isetan Mitsukoshi Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, has decided to join Tmall Global.

The Tmall Global e-commerce site offers a wide selection of safe, secure, and high-quality products, primarily from the Isetan Mitsukoshi Group, as well as products unique to the Isetan Mitsukoshi Group. The range will start with several hundred items, ranging from fashion clothing for women, men, and children to miscellaneous goods, cosmetics, food, and living goods, and will expand over time. Initially, the range will be developed with the company's own brands and seasonal projects, and domestic partner brands will be added later. From spring 2017 onwards, the company plans to increase the number of brands and items, including collaboration projects with designers. In the future, the company also plans to provide services unique to the Mitsukoshi Isetan brand, taking advantage of the local group store network, such as after-sales care such as repairs and processing, and promotions including pop-up shops where customers can experience the products up close.
