Founded in Paris, France in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, Longchamp is a maison brand that combines modern luxury with creativity and dynamism. On October 9th, 2020, the brand released the playful collection "Longchamp x Pokemon," a collaboration with Pikachu from the Japanese video game series "Pokemon." A launch event was held the day before, on October 8th, and was attended by a number of glamorous guests.

Ikeda Miyu and siblings Yoshimichi, Michi and Yoshiaki, visited Longchamp La Maison Omotesando to enjoy the collection, in which Pikachu brings a lightning-fast, exciting newness to Longchamp's signature Le Pliage(R), and showed off stylish coordinations that incorporated the new bags into their autumn outfits. On the day, Pikachu will take over the facade of "Longchamp La Maison Omotesando," and the store will feature sofas filled with adorable Pikachu, a giant Pikachu balloon, and a digital panel where you can enjoy dressing up your "Pokémon GO" avatar. This special space filled with Pikachu will be available for a limited time only, until October 26th.

"Longchamp x Pokémon," which brings together the Maison's signature collection with Japan's Pikachu and is a gift to aspiring Pokémon trainers, is now available in select stores ahead of the rest of the world. *All guests were asked to cooperate with COVID-19 infection prevention measures, arriving at separate times and wearing masks except when taking photos. Thorough infection prevention measures will also be in place during the event, including temperature checks, sanitizing, and mask-wearing at the entrance.

【About Longchamp】
Founded in Paris, France in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, Longchamp is a maison brand that combines modern luxury with creativity and dynamism. The brand began with the world's first luxury leather-wrapped pipe, a pipe wrapped in hand-stitched leather. Continuing its heritage spanning more than 70 years, the brand continues to convey styles that embellish the Longchamp woman living today. Longchamp has introduced iconic and timeless bag collections embodied in French savoir-faire, such as the origami-inspired "Le Pliage®" (introduced in 1993) and the striking "Roseau" with its bamboo toggles. Currently, under the leadership of Artistic Director Sophie Delafontaine, the brand reinterprets French elegance with ready-to-wear, as well as bags, accessories, shoes, eyewear, and travel goods for both men and women, each season. Continuing its family-run tradition, Longchamp remains owned and operated by the Cassegrain family, with over 300 directly operated boutiques in 80 countries worldwide. In Japan, "Longchamp La Maison Ginza" opened in July 2019, bringing the brand's total to 54 stores (as of September 2020), including the flagship La Maison in Omotesando and Ginza. Furthermore, Longchamp, which values craftsmanship from its atelier in Segre, France, has been recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage Company by the French government since 2007.
