Longchamp releases patchwork collection in collaboration with Emotionally Unavailable

Release Date:2021.12.28
Dec 24, 2021
LONGCHAMP, a maison brand founded by Jean Cassegrain in Paris in 1948, combines modern luxury with creativity and dynamism. The brand has once again collaborated with Emotionally Unavailable (EU), founded by Edison Chen and K.B. Lee, to launch the unisex collection "LONGCHAMP X EU," depicting a family holiday trip, globally. In Japan, the collection will be available exclusively on the official online store, Longchamp La Maison Omotesando, Longchamp La Maison Ginza, and the official online stores of select department stores from December 28, 2021.

In stark contrast to the first collaboration, which embodied the attitude of a boxing champion, this time the collection will feature bags, accessories and ready-to-wear, incorporating "patchwork" from the latest EU collection, with a subtle vintage feel amidst modern designs.

At the heart of the collection are garment covers inspired by the Maison's archives and a messenger bag, the first model designed by Artistic Director Sophie Delafontaine for Longchamp. To suit modern lifestyles, EU has transformed the garment cover into a backpack with a compartment for storing a tablet or laptop.

The "patchwork" collection also features a sweet and nostalgic floral print, blue and white gingham, and khaki canvas printed with the Longchamp horse and EU's bleeding heart logo in red, all of which are signatures of the collaboration. In addition to the garment covers and messenger bags, the lineup also includes Le Pliage® shopping and travel bags in a "patchwork" design, as well as backpacks in floral print and khaki canvas, all of which are labeled "Longchamp ♥ EU" and, as with the first release, "Been a CHAMP a LONG time."

The "Longchamp x EU" collection also includes a logo T-shirt in white and floral print, and a pullover in navy and khaki. The pullover features a floral print on the hood and large Longchamp and EU logos on the chest and back.

To celebrate the launch of the collection, the Maison will release a short film on its official social media accounts inspired by the popular movie "Home Alone," which Kaybee watched during lockdown. A family oversleeps, and everyone hurriedly packs their belongings into "Longchamp x EU" bags to head out, except for the youngest boy, clad in a baggy pullover. He waves goodbye to the others and happily munches on pasta. Along with the collection, which depicts a "family holiday trip," the Maison presents a hilarious story that will make you chuckle.

"The atmosphere of the holiday season, the feeling of spending time together, and something a little bit vintage - the short film embodies everything we wanted to express with this collection."
(K.B. Lee)

"The short film reflects the feel-good feeling that permeates the collection, and I think that's just what we need right now."
(Sophie Delafontaine)

[About Longchamp]
Founded in Paris, France in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, Longchamp is a maison brand that combines modern luxury, creativity and dynamism. The brand began with the world's first luxury leather-wrapped pipe, a pipe wrapped in hand-stitched leather, and has continued to convey styles that embellish the Longchamp woman living today, while following a heritage spanning more than 70 years. Longchamp has introduced iconic and timeless bag collections embodied in French savoir-faire, such as the origami-inspired "Le Pliage®" bag, launched in 1993, and the striking "Roseau" bag with its bamboo toggles. Currently, under the leadership of Artistic Director Sophie Delafontaine, the brand reinterprets French elegance with ready-to-wear, as well as bags, accessories, shoes, eyewear, and travel goods for both men and women, each season. Continuing its family-run tradition, Longchamp remains owned and operated by the Cassegrain family, with over 300 directly operated boutiques in 80 countries worldwide. In Japan, "Longchamp La Maison Ginza" opened in July 2019, and as of June 2021, the brand has 56 stores, including the flagship La Maison in Omotesando and Ginza. Longchamp, which values craftsmanship and is based in its atelier in Segre, France, has been recognized as an intangible cultural heritage company by the French government since 2007.
