Founded in Paris, France in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, Longchamp is a maison brand that combines modern luxury with creativity and dynamism. In collaboration with Norwegian designer Kristin Five Melva, Longchamp has launched a capsule collection made from Røros tweed from the UNESCO World Heritage village of Røros in Norway, which will be launched globally. In Japan, the collection will be available exclusively on the official online store and at Longchamp La Maison Omotesando and Longchamp La Maison Ginza from November 1, 2022. New bags inspired by Melva's warm touch will also be added to the lineup in stores nationwide.

The modern Parisian woman is full of energy, spending her weekdays in Paris with her best friend and weekends in a chalet (mountain lodge-style hotel) surrounded by the deep snow of the French Alps with her family and partner. Actively on the move, she also spends precious time with her loved ones. The capsule collection, which features bold colors that combine Melva's signature orange, blue, gray, and burgundy, and accents with geometric designs reminiscent of modern art, consists of four items (blanket, fringed stole, stole, and sweater), evoking the warmth of the fireplace where Longchamp women gather.

The blankets, in particular, are timeless pieces that combine the savoir-faire of both France and Norway. They feature incredibly light and soft wool from Røros Tweed, a company that has been weaving sustainable wool products in the village of Røros in the mountains of central Norway since 1940, and a specially designed holder made from Le Pliage®'s signature leather*, creating a blanket that can be rolled up and carried around. Other items include two stoles embroidered with the "Longchamp Horse" and an oversized sweater made from a luxurious blend of wool and angora, perfect for a chic Parisian weekend.

The new bag being released in conjunction with this collection expresses the warmth that Melva's creations exude with flannel material, and the "Longchamp Horse" on the pocket radiates energy. The capsule collection with Christine Five Melva and the new bag will warmly watch over you as you spend time deepening the bonds between you and your family and loved ones.

*In 1973, Philippe Cassegrain, the second generation owner, came across Russian reindeer leather discovered in a sunken ship, which inspired Le Pliage(R), which was born in 1993, to feature handles and flaps decorated with a diamond-shaped grain (pattern) that imitated that leather. Since then, the handles and flaps of the Le Pliage(R) collection have been made from "Russian leather" finished with the Maison's savoir-faire.

Founded in Paris, France in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, Longchamp is a maison brand that combines modern luxury with creativity and dynamism. Originating from the world's first luxury leather-wrapped pipes, made with hand-stitched leather, the brand continues to inspire the modern Longchamp woman while adhering to its 70-year heritage. Longchamp has created iconic and timeless bag collections embodied in French savoir-faire, such as the origami-inspired "Le Pliage®" bag, launched in 1993, and the striking "Roseau" bag with its bamboo toggles. Today, under the leadership of Artistic Director Sophie Delafontaine, Longchamp reinterprets French elegance with ready-to-wear, as well as bags, accessories, shoes, eyewear, and travel goods for both men and women, each season. Continuing its family-run tradition, Longchamp remains owned and operated by the Cassegrain family, with over 300 directly operated boutiques in 80 countries worldwide. In Japan, Longchamp La Maison Ginza opened in July 2019, and as of June 2021, there are 56 stores, including the flagship La Maison in Omotesando and Ginza.
