
Picture book author Miroko Machiko will be holding the exhibition "Miroko Machiko: Hearing the Sounds of Living Things" at the Eki Kyoto Museum of Art from December 1st to 25th. Miroko Machiko is a picture book author renowned for her exceptional sense of color, unique artistic expression, and rich linguistic sense. She is also a highly active painter, creating large-scale works such as murals and ceiling paintings, regularly holding solo exhibitions, and engaging in live painting activities. In 2014, she also created the main visual and display for Isetan's Christmas campaign. This exhibition will feature original illustrations from her signature picture books, as well as large-scale paintings and sculptures, as well as her latest works. It will be a lively exhibition capturing Miroko Machiko's current state. Signing sessions with her will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on December 1st and from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on December 4th. In addition, from 1:30 pm on December 4th, there will be a live painting performance in the children's clothing department on the 7th floor of JR Kyoto Isetan, with illustrations by Miroko Machiko and music by Kobayashi Takefumi.
